This member has been nominated not only for what he has done but the kind of man he is. Let’s get started with what he has done:
Kevin and Gwen owned a non-Harley motorcycle and were riding with Jim Braun and Nancy Seaton on several rides. In May of 2015, Kevin called Nancy at 11:00 p.m. to tell Nancy (who was on the Run for the Wall) that he bought a Harley Davidson motorcycle, he was excited. The ringleader of the Life is Good Thumbs Up Ride When Kevin was asked to start a weekday ride once-a-month, he wasn’t sure if he was the right man for the job. As we all know, this request has blossomed into an almost weekly occurrence. He is the right man for this job. As John Wayne once said “Courage is being scared to death, but saddle up anyway” Under his direction the rides he’s led have covered everything for historical destinations to unique places. The miles his rides have garnered for members, barely outweigh the joy his riders share on these outings. One of the first ladies who participated in the Life is Good Ride says of Kevin “he always made sure to welcome me, I never felt like I wasn’t wanted there. Kevin always made sure I had my bathrooms breaks and I always felt safe on his rides, unless he was trying to get home for a nap, now I understand the saying “balls to the wall”.
As Clint Eastwood said “I don’t believe in pessimism, if something doesn’t go the way you want, forge ahead. As one member says “Kevin has always been a kind person, some people never change, and Kevin is one of those people. Never have I heard him complain about anyone on his rides. You cannot find a better person or friend than Kevin, even better I would call him “Brother”. A devoted family man to his children and their families, he is there for them anytime and for anything.
